I feel so lucky to have been able to help out with Marvel’s Deadpool film! I was contacted by an old colleague now at Blur Studios to do some last minute (and I mean last minute!) matte painting work for the opening title sequence.
My contribution was with the background city. Initially an all CG element, the city needed a quick facelift for some added realism and matte painting was the most expedient solution. It was a fast, crazy, and fun experience – just like the film itself! Art Of The Title just posted an excellent interview with the director and the team at Blur, which you can check out HERE.
